About

Bentley Kyle Evans is an acclaimed writer, producer, and director whose creative vision has shaped some of the most memorable sitcoms in Black television. Born in Oakland and raised in Los Angeles, Bentley began on-screen with his acting debut in the 1990 film House Party before moving behind the scenes. As showrunner on hits like Martin (1992–1997) and The Jamie Foxx Show (1996–2001), and creator/co-creator of Love That Girl! (2010–2014), he’s proven adept at blending humor with cultural resonance. He launched Bounce TV’s first original scripted series, Family Time, and went on to create and direct shows such as In the Cut, Grown Folks, Partners in Rhyme (co-created with MC Lyte), and Millennials. More recently, he co-wrote and co-executive produced Martin: The Reunion on BET+. An NAACP Image Award nominee, Bentley balances his professional drive with family life in Los Angeles alongside his wife Valicia and children Bentley Jr. and KyLee. When he’s off set, you’ll find him on the golf course or playing pickleball, often sharing laughs and stories that fuel his next project.
